Look Touch Own x Alias x Art Basel Switzerland
context:
OONA doesn't really exist, but her body does - it is the center of her art.
OONA is anonymous - she never* shows her face because her work is about the female form.
OONA used to have 235CC Silicon implants inside her breasts.
in 2021, OONA explanted.
Now, OONA transforms the implants into readymade objects and uses performance art to foster intimacy, healing and acknowledgement. Not everyone has the same reaction to this performance but generally they range from "holy shit I hated that. it was so awkward" to "that was a really healing moment for me. thank you"
This is the beauty of this art: it is personal.
ABOUT:
Look Touch Own is a performance art piece that combines beauty, breasts, and blockchain.
The performance has now taken place in London, Los Angeles, New York City, Joigny and Paris offering a cross cultural analysis. Each time the performance is toured audience reactions range from "terror" to "empowering." Read more about Look Touch Own here.
The First 300 Touches: For each of the first three hundred participants of the performance, OONA has tracked every action they have taken (what did they do with the silicon, did they touch OONA's breasts, if so how?, etc.) and used these datapoints to create a series of 300 individual artworks.
Turning The Body Into An Interface: Look Touch Own x Alias: Based on OONA's dataset and the corresponding series of 300 artworks, OONA has trained an Alias to the correlating behaviors of the participants to create new artworks in her own likeness.
Integrating her Alias into the performance allows OONA to turn the body into an interface - creating an almost instantaneous artwork based on the participant's actions.
Art Basel Switzerland: 3E will cover the cost of booth and installation at Art Basel Switzerland with George Bak.
in glitchy goodness,
OONA
